Bowlers Pro Shop of Milwaukee announced it will be presenting 10 bowling balls to the top high school bowling athletes this 2007-2008 season. The balls are all new releases from top manufacturers like Storm, Brunswick and Hammer to name just a few. Each ball has been tested and evaluated for performance on both wood and synthetic lane surfaces. These balls have a retail value between $170 and $230 when new.
Bowlers Pro Shop owner, Joe Cerar Jr., writes a monthly ball review column for Bowlers Journal International magazine. His ball reviews are derived from thorough testing at local bowling centers as well as the USBC testing and research center. These reviews then help consumers make informed decisions regarding their next bowling ball purchase. The 15# test balls are only thrown about ten games or less so there are sure to be many strikes left in them. As an added bonus, any Bowlers Pro Shop winning customer will receive complimentary drilling, thumb insert and finger grips. Other winners will receive a 25% discount coupon for said services.
Cerar will be presenting these test balls to the top three boys in both the varsity and junior varsity divisions. He is also presenting the top two girls in both divisions as well. Top winners are determined by their respective fill percentage for frames bowled in the city conference. Fill percentage is determined by either striking or converting spares. Open frames naturally count against ones fill percentage.
Competition begins December 1st at AMF West Allis at 1:00 PM. There are 19 High School Teams involved this season, an increase of five teams from last year. Fans are welcome at all of the events and admission is free. A complete schedule and updated standings can be found at www.district1bowling.com. |
